MANSION DOOR

An unofficial music video for Mansion Door by Shakey Graves. The video follows the character of a mime through various locations, stringing together a loose narrative and matching the mood of the song. I was encouraged to be experimental in both the filming and editing stages of this video.

I combined many different elements create this video. Art direction in relation to character and setting, choosing imagery and spaces that aligned with the mood I was trying to create. Green screen and keying effects were used. In post-production, I experimented with colour, speed, and the integration of text.

TREVOR MOORE DOCUMENTARY

A short documentary about Trevor Moore, a Med Hatter known around town for being an entertainer, coach, and all-around stand-up guy. Trevor was my golf coach for 2 years, and now I am happy to call him a life-long friend. I thought he was the perfect candidate for a documentary as he is a great storyteller and always has words of wisdom to provide.

This documentary was one of the more challenging video projects I’ve done so far. It was important to edit the narrative well so that it did not get too long and monotonous. After I had a solid narrative, I intertwined b-roll shots to illustrate what Trevor was saying. I also focused on having an attention-grabbing introduction and an impactful conclusion.

MIRANDA RIGHTS

A recreation of the Miranda Rights scene in 21 Jump Street. The clip follows the original quite closely, but some adaptations were made at my discretion. The focus for this project was on telling a narrative by stringing together different types of shots: wide, medium, close, and ECU’s (extreme close ups).

Composition was an important factor to consider, each shot was thoughtout and experimented with so that it appeared balanced yet natural. Background noise (ducking) was added in post-production to increase the realism of the scene, and typography skills were utitilized in the design of titles and credits.
